Technical skill building training for Journalists and Media Professionals on Investigation, Monitoring, Reporting, and Covering Forced Labor, Child Labor, Exploitation, and Trafficking in Person
On June 27-28 2023, Consortium of Ethiopian Human Rights Organization (CEHRO) in collaboration with ActionAid Ethiopia through a financial support from Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) successfully delivered a two-day technical skill building training for Journalists and Media Professionals on Investigation, Monitoring, Reporting, and Covering Forced Labor, Child Labor, Exploitation, and Trafficking in Person. Journalists, reporters, editors and managements representing more than 20 Media Houses, News Articles, FM radio, community radio, Online platforms, and media associations mainly facilitated by the Ethiopian Media Council (EMC) had taken part in the training. The training contents were crafted to enhance the skills, techniques, tactics, strategies, and approaches of investigating modern slavery, trafficking in person, child labor in Ethiopia and setting agenda for policy level change for journalists. Participants demonstrated strong intent to the topics and concepts discussed during the session and showed strong desire to benefit from similar skill building opportunities.
CEHRO firmly believes the strategic collaborative engagement with media sector for the protection and promotion of Human Rights and will further strengthen its collaborative engagement with media sector.
