Consultation workshop on deliberation and popularization of draft Proclamation on the “Protection and Assistance of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)” in Ethiopia.

CEHRO, in collaboration with NDI, conducted a consultation workshop on genuine deliberation and popularization of draft Proclamation on the “Protection and Assistance of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)” in Ethiopia. This proclamation was drafted as part of government’s commitment to domesticate Kampala Convention. Various stakeholders including media, local and international CSOs and government stakeholders attended the event. The draft proclamation and other associated issues of IDPs were discussed during the consultation session. CEHRO strongly believes that the draft proclamation shall ensure the protection and promotion of human rights of IDPs, while addressing the root causes of internal displacement in the country.
